Control Panels

Control power supply

Definition

The panel component converting incoming power to the DC voltage, usually 24 V, that the controller, I/O, and field devices run on.

Size it on total steady-state load plus the largest simultaneous inrush, add at least 25% headroom, then derate for the real maximum ambient. An undersized supply produces intermittent resets that are very hard to diagnose.
